Margaret Ann Simon

Margaret Ann Simon, 90, of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 08, 1927 in Rossiter, a daughter of the late Andrew and Ann (Veselenik) Barencik.

Mrs. Simon was a member of the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Rossiter.

Margaret was the wife of James C. Humble for many years. He preceded her in death in 1978. She later married Gabriel Simon, who also preceded her in death in 1990.

Her enjoyments were dancing and listening to Polka music, she was active in the Polka Club and last attended a Polka dance in December 2016. She especially liked to garden, and kept her mind sharp with Sudoku, puzzles and Scrabble.

She is survived by seven children; which includes four sons, Kevin Humble, Bryce Humble, and Jayme Humble, all of Punxsutawney; and Brian Humble and wife Susu of Arkansas; three daughters, Colette Robertson and husband William, Babette Brink, and Manette Setree and husband William George Jr., all of Punxsutawney; eleven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Margaret was the last member of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband’s James C. Humble and Gabriel Simon; two sisters, Susan Barencik and Clara “Dutch” Truance; five brothers, John, Andrew, George, Joseph and Paul Barencik.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. at the funeral home, celebrated by Father Tony Klimko.

Interment will be at Church of the Resurrection Cemetery, Rossiter.

Memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to the Church of the Resurrection, 349 Morris Street, Clymer, PA 15728.
