Margaret D. ‘Peg’ Wisneski

Margaret D. “Peg” Wisneski, age 74 of Portage, Indiana passed away on October 23rd, 2014.

Born on February 20th, 1940 in Brockway, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Margaret and James Davis.

Peg is survived by her husband, Raymond G. Wisneski, who she married in Emlenton, Pennsylvania on November 19th, 1960; children, Rick Wisneski of Chesterton, Indiana, Lynne (Mike) Clumb of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kim (Mike) Croarkin of Valparaiso, Indiana; 3 grandchildren; Shauna Croarkin, Kaitlin Croarkin, and Ashley Clumb. She is also survived by a sister, Kay (Pete) Perry of LaPlata, Maryland, brother, Jim (Ruth) Davis of Emlenton, Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Over the years, Peg volunteered as a Portage Junior Miss Softball manager, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den mother, Sunday School Teacher, and an elder in the Presbyterian Church. She was employed as a supervisor at the Porter County Child Protection Services for 20 years and for 6 years at the Porter County Family and Youth Services Bureau where she developed and supervised the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program. Peg received several awards for her work with children and families.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 28th, 2014 at 10:00 am at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368, with Pastor Gretchen Seidler-Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
