Marie Travis, 93, Anita, went to her heavenly rest on Friday, July 24, 2015, at DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born June 8, 1922, in Anita, a daughter of the late Bertha (Mountain) and Harry Manners.
On June 19, 1941, she married Nolan O. Travis, who preceded her in death on July 20, 1990.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, sewing, bingo, cooking and baking, and her family.
Surviving relatives include nine children, Ken Travis of Reynoldsville, Carol Gaston and husband Ed of Rochester Mills, Nancy Hicks and husband Donald of Rochester Mills, Patty Lingenfelter and Ron McHenry of Falls Creek, Donna Sears of Punxsutawney, Beverly Hale of Punxsutawney, James Travis and Michele of Punxsutawney, Rick Travis and wife Tammy of Punxsutawney, and Terry Travis and Delores Gibson of Reynoldsville; twenty one grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Travis and Gary Travis; two grandsons, Toby Travis and Adam Travis; a granddaughter Stacy Travis; and four brothers, Ray, Ira, Ed, and Ward Manners.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2015, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the funeral home with Joseph Buterbaugh officiating.
Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery, Knoxdale.
