Marilyn R. Syphrit

Marilyn R. Syphrit, 71, a guest at the Jefferson Manor, in Brookville, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Clarion Hospital, Clarion, Pa.

Born on October 28, 1942, in Brookville, Pa., she was the daughter of Edward R. Syphrit, Jr., and Dorothy Breaky Syphrit.

After graduating from Brookville Area High School in 1960, Marilyn attended the Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pa. where she graduated in 1963. She joined the nursing staff at Shadyside Hospital following graduation. After two years, she served as an RN at the former Jefferson County Home, then the new Jefferson County Home which is now the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, Pa. She later also served as an RN at the Pennsylvania Memorial Home.

She is a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois, Pa., and she enjoyed playing the piano and did so for many years.

She is survived by a sister, Linda J. Bollinger of Lehigh Acres, Florida.

She was preceded in deat by her parents.

Visitation hours will be on Monday, June 9, 2014, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at McKinney Funeral Home

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014, at 4:00 PM at McKinney Funeral Home with The Rev. Sarah Ott of the First United Presbyterian Church of DuBois, Pa., officiating.

Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery (Windy Hill), in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
