Marion L. ‘Lorrie’ (White) Shields

Marion L. “Lorrie” (White) Shields, 65, of Rossiter, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born in Middlesex, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Charles Joseph White and Viola (Rouse) White Deyarmin.

She was a member of the Rossiter American Legion.

Lorrie was a selfless, free spirit who knew how to enjoy life. She was big-hearted and generous beyond measure.

She was an avid animal lover.

Surviving relatives include two children, Thomas C. Shields and wife Susan of Angola, New York, and Teresa C. Kencel and husband Joseph of North Collins, New York; five grandchildren, Joseph and Brittany Kencel, Michael Shelton, D’Anna Ferrara and Nicholas Swan; one great-grandson, Talon Thomas Shelton; two brothers, Mark Deyarmin and wife Angel of Urey and Dee Deyarmin and wife Brenda of Glen Campbell; two sisters, Dot Neal of Rossiter and Nancy Watson of Cherry Tree; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends from New York and Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Matthew Deyarmin, and brother Charles “Brud” White.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Capt. Keith Jache.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in “Lorrie’s” memory to Willow Run Sanctuary, P.O. Box 32, Coolspring, PA 15730.
