Mary E. Ferringer (Neill)

mary-ferringerMary E. Ferringer, 92, of Hawthorn, died on Tuesday December 27, 2016 at Edgewood Heights in New Bethlehem.

She was born on October 10, 1924 in Pansy, Pa. in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Archie M. and Venna R. (Yeany) Neill.

She was married on July 19, 1946 to Cleo C. “Jock” Burford and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1965.

She then married Ray A. Ferringer in June 1977 and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1997.

She attended the First Church of God in New Bethlehem for over 60 years. She love the Lord and raised her children to also love the Lord.

Mary volunteered her time and talents working at the church, the Hawthorn Area Fire Department, the Food Bank, Thrift Shop, and especially Whitehall Camp at Emlenton.

Mary is survived by three children, Terry Burford and his wife, Sue of New Bethlehem, Rev. Mark Burford and his wife, Becky of Morristown, Tennessee, and Sheila Jaworski and her husband, Steve of New Bethlehem, two sisters, Evelyn Fowler of Youngstown, Ohio and Florence Cook of Brookville, six grandchildren, Lisa Hepler (Jeff) of New Bethlehem, Jennifer Wagner and special friend, Terry Yeany of New Bethlehem, Elizabeth Sufridge (Brian) of Tennessee, Catherine Wilson (Enoch) of South Carolina, Selena Magagnotti (Nick) of New Bethlehem, and Alicia Pesina (Daniel) of New Bethlehem, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was also preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister, Della Morrison.

Visitation will on Thursday December 29, 2016 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn.

The funeral service will be on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor John Phillips officiating.

Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mahoning Township, Armstrong County.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary’s honor to Whitehall Camp at 580 Whitehall Road Emlenton, Pa. 16373 or the Hawthorn Area Fire Department at PO Box 125 Hawthorn, Pa. 16230.
