Mary E. Moore

Mary E. Moore, 94, formerly of Ramseytown, died August 27, 2015, a Brookville Hospital.

Born to Bernard J. and Matilda (Ferguson) Garvey on July 6, 1921, in Ramseytown, she married William Moore in Ramseytown on Oct. 28, 1939. He preceded her in death in April of 1986.

She was primarily a homemaker that loved her family, sewing and crafting.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church near Ramseytown.

She is survived by one son, William B. (Nancy) Moore, of Ramseytown; one daughter, Shirley A. (Robert) Painter, of Brookville; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers: John Garvey, Vincent Garvey, Joseph Garvey, Elmer Garvey; and one sister, Kathryn (Garvey) Grube; one grandson, David A. Moore; two great-granddaughters, Mikayla M. Rhoades and Jessica Black Wiser.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at the McKinney d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville.

A funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Michael Garvey.

Interment will be at the Ohl Cemetery, Beaver Township, Jefferson County.
Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church near Ramseytown.
