Mary Elizabeth “Bette” London

Mary Elizabeth “Bette” London, 94, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, while convalescing at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

She was born April 4, 1927, in Little Rock, Arkansas, daughter of the late Ada (Jones) and Edward Cassin.

Bette graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1945 and from St. Teresa’s College in 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri.

She married Guy W. London on February 10, 1951. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2007.

Guy’s career, which included working in broadcasting and on projects like Apollo 13, took them to many cities across the United States, before they retired in Punxsutawney in 1992. Upon retirement, they reconnected with the London and Weaver families.

Bette is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews, many of whom Guy and Bette opened their home to when they needed a place to stay as the journeyed trough life.

Bette loved doing watercolor painting and collecting antiques, many of which are lovingly displayed in several of her families’ homes.

Bette was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Church of Punxsutawney.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, July 24, 2021, at SS.C.D. Church with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo officiating.

Interment will be in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.
