Mary Ellen Swanson, age 82, of Bethel Park, PA, formerly of West Garfield Avenue, DuBois, PA died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her home.
Born December 10, 1932 in Falls Creek, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Carlson) Allshouse.
On June 5, 1954 in Falls Creek, PA, she married Lawrence E. Swanson. He preceded her in death in 2010.
In 1993, after 22 ½ years of service, she retired from Bell of Pennsylvania as a clerk.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine, and the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Advisory Board, and enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, playing cards, and doing activities with her friends
Mary Ellen is survived by her children: Lee Ann Swanson, MD of Peters Township, PA; Penny Truesdale and her husband, Tom of DuBois, PA and D. Scott Swanson and his wife, Sandy of Fairbanks, AL, a sister, Nancy Griffin of Lakewood, CO and ten grandchildren.

There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the chapel at Morningside Cemetery
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
