Mary Louise Madrid

Resident of Sacramento, California, Mary Louise Madrid passed away peacefully on November 16th, 2021 at the age of 95.

Born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to Valentine and Theresa (Rizzo) Manto on August 12th, 1926.

She was 2nd from the youngest child of 5 children. She was preceded in death by Husband Joseph C. Madrid in 1974, and her sisters, Anna West, Sarah West; brothers, Sam Manto, Mike Manto.

She is survived by her son, William Madrid and Grandson Curtis Madrid; great Nephews, Charles A. West of Niagara Falls NY, Donald West of Grand Island, NY, and Great Niece Sandra (Lesko) Dupak of Punxsutawney, PA.

Mary worked during World War 2 in a Munitions Factory aiding the war effort, which she was very proud of.

She was a lifelong cat lover. She owned many cats during her lifetime. All were special to her.

For the last 3 years of her life, she relocated to Sacramento Ca, to live with her son William and his spouse Emily. Both were her caregivers during this time.

She would sit with the cats outside and loved being outdoors. Her favorite music was, in her words, Hillbilly (Country) music. Her favorite song was “Sweet Caroline”, By Neil Diamond. She will be missed…

Services will be held on November 29th 2021, 10:00am at: Duggan’s Serra Mortuary 500 Westlake Ave Daly City, CA 94014.

After the service, she will then be laid to rest in her childhood home of Punxsutawney, PA.
