Mary T. Pichler

Mary T. Pichler, 99, a resident of Elk Haven and formerly of 219 Fairview Road, Kersey, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born May 12, 1918, in Kersey, daughter of the late Robert and Claire Smithbauer Anzinger.

She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey schools.

She was a retired employee of the Pure Carbon Company.

On August 28, 1937, in the Saint Boniface Church, she married Albert J. Pichler, Sr. who preceded her in death on June 11, 1991.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Challingsworth and her husband, Ralph, of Kersey; Elizabeth “Betty” Swanson and her husband, James, of Brockway; two sons, Albert J. Pichler, Jr. and his wife, Marlene, of Kersey; William R. Pichler and his wife, Ellen, of Kersey; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; also survived by a sister, Dorothy Harahue, of Erie, PA; and by a good friend, Patty Kline, of Kersey.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Tim Pichler; a sister, Margaret Himes; and three brothers: Francis Anzinger, Robert Anzinger, and Clarence “Skipper” Anzinger.

Mary was a member of the Saint Boniface Church, the church choir, taught CCD, helped in the school cafeteria, and worked bingo.

She loved to play the organ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Saint Boniface Church on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Saint Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Saint Boniface Church on Tuesday, July 11 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

Memorials, if desired, can be made to a favorite charity.

The Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
