Maxwell “Max” W. Plyler Jr.

Member_154779[1]Maxwell “Max” W. Plyler Jr., 85, DuBois, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Christ the King Manor to be with his wife, Gerry.

Born September 16, 1930, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Maxwell and Helen (Tompkins) Plyler.

On February 3, 1951, he married Geraldine Delores Marsh. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2006.

He graduated from the DuBois Area High School and later served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired as a supervisor from the United States Postal Service in DuBois. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed wildlife, fishing, bowling, watching sports, and playing the lottery.

Max is survived by his daughter, Jill (Perry) Stoyek, DuBois, and two grandsons, Ryan and Evan Stoyek also of DuBois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and an infant son, Mike.

Memorial donations may be made to Christ the King Manor, 1100 W. Long Ave, DuBois, PA 15801 or to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Rd., Falls Creek, PA 15840.

There will be no public visitation.

Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
