Car Goes Airborne in Monday Morning Crash, Mayport Woman Injured

BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – A 64-year-old Mayport woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Monday in Beaver Township, Jefferson County.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say the accident happened around 3:35 a.m. on Pansy Ringgold Road (SR 3005) when 64-year-old Jennean M. Bish, of Mayport, lost control of her 2014 Chevrolet Equinox after cresting a hill.

The vehicle traveled across the westbound travel lane and impacted with a ditch, which was located approximately 4 feet off of the north berm.

After impacting with the ditch, the vehicle went airborne for approximately 30 feet, while clearing an 8 foot deep culvert.

Upon descending to the ground, the front undercarriage portion of the vehicle impacted with an embankment, which was located approximately 10 feet off of the roadway.

The vehicle then traveled for approximately 90 feet through a yard before coming to a final rest.

Bish was wearing her seat belt. She suffered moderate injuries as a result of this crash.

Jefferson County EMS transported her to Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by McPherson’s Towing.

PSP Punxsutawney was assisted at the scene by the Summerville VFD.
