Mechanical Failure Causes Vehicle to Crash into Guide Rail Along Route 219

BURNSIDE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A mechanical failure caused an area woman’s vehicle to crash along State Route 219 last Thursday morning.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, this crash occurred around 8:46 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, on State Route 219 (Patchin Highway), in Burnside Township, Clearfield County.

Police say a 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by 42-year-old Jessica M. Lintz, of Cherry Tree, was traveling south and struck a guide rail on the west side of the highway.

The vehicle continued traveling southbound for approximately 60 feet and came to final rest against the guide rail.

The crash was determined to be caused by a mechanical failure of the vehicle’s suspension system, police say.

Lintz was not injured; she was not using a seat belt.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Scott’s Auto Towing.
