Medical Issue Suspected Cause of Union Twp. Crash

state_policeUNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred in Union Township, Clearfield County.

Police say the crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. on May 9 as Edward R. Watson, 77, of Clearfield, was traveling west on DuBois Rockton Road in a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country.

Watson traveled south across the roadway and into a ditch along the south berm, according to police.

Watson’s vehicle traveled 40 feet west in the ditch before coming to a final rest, police say.

According to police, it is believed that Watson had a medical issue that caused the crash.

Watson sustained minor injury in the crash and was transported to Penn Highlands Hospital in Dubois by Dusan EMS, police say.

A passenger – Marilyn G. Luzier, 68, of Clearfield – was uninjured in the crash.

PSP DuBois were assisted on scene by Rockton VFD, Dusan EMS, and Brady Township.
