Bicycling Cook Forest: Ancient Trees of Fire Tower Road

Please bring your bicycles and meet at the Nuthole Pavilion at the entrance to Ridge Camp for an interpretive bicycling tour of the ancient trees along Fire Tower Road. Come see the past state champ hemlock, ancient shaggy bark red maples, and 300 year old white & chestnut oaks on this rare opportunity to ride the trails along Fire Tower Road. Children 12 & under must wear helmets. (3 hrs)
Old Economy Village Bus Trip

The JCHC is traveling to Old Economy Village on Saturday, August 8, 2015. The charter bus will depart from the Evangelical United Methodist Church parking lot, located at 302 White Street in Brookville. Trip-goers will then depart Old Economy Village around 1:00pm for lunch on your own at the Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh.

Old Iron Show Weekend At Kahle’s Kitchens

Kahle’s Kitchens will host a tractor ride and picnic on Saturday, August 8, followed by an “Old Iron Show” on Sunday, August 9. On Saturday, the Leeper-based business will host a 17-mile tractor ride at 2:00 p.m., followed by a picnic. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by calling 814-744-9390.
On Sunday, the “Old Iron Show” kicks off at noon. Guests are encouraged to bring their tractor engine, lawn tractor, or antique truck/car to the show for a chance to win in the People’s Choice or Kid’s Choice categories.Show plaques will be available. The event will feature a country/gospel music performed by “Next O’ Kin.” There will also be train rides.Registration starts at noon, and the event is free.
