Memorial Service to be Held May 19 for Pauline Reichard

Pauline (Kenemuth) Reichard passed at age 92 on February 15, 2018.

Pauline is survived by her children Nola (David) Soper of Houston, TX; Donna (Gary) Westby of Clinton Township, MI and Dean Reichard (Ivan Davila) of Takoma Park, MD; grandchildren Joshua and Ryan Westby; Erica (Soper) Smith and Ellen (Soper) Mercado.

She also had seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents Alfred “Pete” Kenemuth and Olive (Fye) Kenemuth, Pauline was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald E. Reichard, brother Gail Kenemuth and sister Ruth Kenemuth.

She is also survived by her sister Linda (Dennis) Bowser of Clarion, PA, 4 nieces and nephews, and 7 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pauline was raised on a Pennsylvania farm, graduated from Ashland Township High School, where she met, and later married Donald E. Reichard and moved briefly to Washington state while Don served in the US Navy during WWII, then to Michigan to raise their family.

Pauline was a wonderful wife, mother, neighbor, and friend to many, and she will be greatly missed by many friends and family, both close and extended. Many of her children’s friends thought of Pauline as a second mother. Pauline was generous and compassionate, volunteering for charitable work through the FISH program and other programs of the First United Methodist Church of Wayne/Westland. Education was very important to Pauline. She inspired her children to get as much formal education as possible, encouraged piano lessons, marching band, and other musical endeavors, even tutored students in the Wayne/Westland school system and attended classes at Eastern Michigan University, until she learned that a third child was forthcoming. Pauline was a ray of sunshine to everyone she met, never complaining to anyone about anything, even assuring her family that she “felt fine” until her final days.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:30am at the First United Methodist Church of Wayne/Westland, located at 3 Town Square Wayne MI 48184, phone number (734) 721-4801.
