Mildred Anna (Berkeybile) Burkett

Mildred Anna (Berkeybile) Burkett, 94, of Punxsutawney, PA died Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Home, PA.

She was born March 13, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was the youngest child of James and Anniebelle (Martin) Berkeybile. She was raised near Pittsburgh near Hazelwood, where she met her husband, Luther Burkett. They lived there for 13 years before moving to Punxsutawney.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Floyd, Charlie, Wilda Duffy and Olive Keifer and also by her grandson Shawn Haggerty and her son-in-law, Jack White.

Mildred was an excellent homemaker and seamstress, who took great pride in her work. She enjoyed making quilts and crocheting.

Millie was a member of the Punxsutawney Presbyterian Church. She was a woman of great faith in the Lord. She found pleasure in life’s simple things, spending time with her family, swimming, playing cards, watching movies, doing her crossword puzzles and moments of quiet reflection.

Millie is survived by her children, Cookie White, Kim Bosak and her husband Dave of Punxsutawney, and by son Louie Burkett and his wife Bernie of Connellsville, PA

She loved and helped raise her grandsons, Marty and Matt White and Chad and Brandon Meanor, and also her great-grandchildren, Shelby White, Karsten, Dakota and Dominic Meanor.

She will be sadly missed.

Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8.

The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Brett Swanson officiating.

Interment will follow at Ridgemont Cemetery.
