Mildred F. Yonushonis, age 88, Falls Creek, PA died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
Born October 4, 1926 in Sykesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry & Sarah (Frantz) Walker.
She graduated from Sykesville High School.
On April 25, 1949 in DuBois, PA, she married Thomas Martin Yonushonis. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2000.
She was a longtime member of the Falls Creek United Methodist Church, and United Methodist Women, and a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile.
Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend. Her granddaughters were the light of her life. Her beautiful flower gardens and colorful walkway were a delight to all. She was a skilled seamstress and baker, always remembered birthdays, and enjoyed her large extended family and many friends. Many people were touched by her generosity and kindness. She truly led an exemplary life. She will be happily remembered and sadly missed.
Survivors include her son, Thomas M. Yonushonis and his wife, Celeste of Columbus, IN, granddaughters, Grace and Rosemary Yonushonis of Columbus, IN, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 1-3 P.M. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3 P.M. from the funeral home with Pastor Kyung Chin officiating.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
