Montana, Barron Crowned ALF Pageant Winners

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – Two North Clarion students were crowned at Monday night’s Autumn Leaf Festival scholarship pageants at the Clarion Area High School Auditorium.

Fifteen-year-old Madyson Montana (pictured below) was crowned Miss Teen.

She is the daughter of Joe and Brenda Montana.

Montana sang, which is something she loves to do in school, at church with her brother, Mason, and in various fundraiser events in the area. She and Mason also sang at the Cancer and Stroke Survivors’ Picnic at UPMC Hospital.

A big part of her life is her pets. She has a four-year-old dog named Shyloh, her rescue cat Snickerz, and a 10-year-old rabbit Butterscotch.

Abbey Barron, an eighth-grade student at North Clarion, (pictured below) was crowned Miss Junior Teen.

She is the daughter of Jeff and Jennifer Barron.

As Barron’s talent at the pageant, she danced.

She has been a dancer at Dancer’s Studio since she was three-years-old and dances in all genres. Abbey is a member of the competition team and has traveled to numerous regional and national competitions, winning top awards, scholarships, and recognitions including Junior Miss Fierce Pittsburgh, Junior Miss Fierce Nationals, and Petite Miss Dance of Pennsylvania. She is also a company member at the studio and has traveled to New Orleans, Orlando, and Nashville to compete in the Dance Masters of America competitions. She also enjoys drawing, acting, fishing, volunteering for church activities, and especially spending time with her family.

The competition featured four contestants for Miss Teen and four contestants for Miss Junior Teen. Categories included formal wear, fun wear, talent, an essay portion, as well as an interview and on-stage questions.

The Autumn Leaf Festival continues today with Foodstock kicking off at the Clarion Mall from noon to 2:00 p.m. Food donors can get a free chair massage.

The Kiddies Parade begins at 6:00 p.m. today on Main Street from 7th to 5th Avenues. Lineup begins at Immaculate Conception Church parking lot.

A Cultural Night featuring Russian Dance Troupe Barynya is set from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in front of the Clarion County Courthouse.

The Tournament of Leaves Parade will begin at noon on Saturday, October 7.
