Monte C. Kemmerer

monte-kemmererMonte C. Kemmerer age 72 of Oyster Run Road Brockport, PA; died on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born on May 4, 1944 in Brookville, PA; he was the son of the late Grover and Nellie Armstrong Kemmerer.

On June 7, 1969 he was married to Gloria Carr and she survives.

Retired, Monte had been employed as Head of Maintenance at the Dan Kohlhepp Corp. in DuBois.

He was a member of the Brockport United Methodist Church and was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

Monte took great pride in belonging to Elk Lodge #379 Free and Accepted Masons and also was a member of the Coudersport Consistory. He also was a member of Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, friends and his dogs Shadow and Daisy and his cat Sadie.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by 2 daughters: Susan (Ron “Poke”) Freemer of Brockway; Kathy Rembold of Oil City, PA; 2 Sisters: Phyllis Dush of Brockway and Agnes Froberg of Maryland; 1 brother: Robert (Mary) Kemmerer of Ridgway; 2 grandchildren: Nathan and Allison Rembold; 2 nieces: Paula Hodgdon and Brenda Froberg; 1 nephew: Kurt Froberg; 2 great nieces: Ashley and Sara; 2 great nephews: Walter and Colin and a great great niece Lilly.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 7 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.

The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, December 8 at 11:00 AM at the Brockport United Methodist Church with Pastor Karen Trask officiating.

Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Thursday morning at the cemetery.

A Masonic Service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM also at the funeral home.
