Motorcyclist Arrested After Fleeing Police During Traffic Stop in Sandy Township

SANDY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A motorcyclist was arrested after fleeling police during a traffic stop in Sandy Township.

According to DuBois-based State Police, the incident occurred around 8:58 p.m. on September 9, on Oklahoma Salem Road, in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

Police say a traffic stop was attempted on a known 29-year-old Curwensville man who was operating a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle. The man initially stopped but then fled.

A pursuit ensued; however, it only lasted a few minutes before the man was forcibly removed from the motorcycle.

Charges of Fleeing and Eluding and related traffic violation are pending in District Court 46-3-01.

The name of the man was not released.
