Nancy A. Sloniger, 77, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
Mrs. Sloniger was born October 10, 1937 in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Robert and Alma (Burkett) Swanson.
Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Robert D. Sloniger who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She worked for Paul Beatty Jewelers and Shields Insurance before retiring.
She was a volunteer for the Grace United Methodist Church Food Bank and a member of the Oliveburg Fire Company Ladies Auxillary.
Her hobbies were reading and gardening.
Nancy is survived by her sons; Edward Sloniger and Fiancee’ Billie Cary of Punxsutawney, Steven Sloniger and Michelle Trevino of San Antonio, TX., brother; Ron Swanson and wife Fran of Michigan, sisters; Norma Krawsczyk of Punxsutawney and Beverly Gerth and husband Al of Idaho.
In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded in death by one brother; Robert Swanson.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Dyson officiating.
Interment is private for family.
