Nancy Eaker

eakerNancy Eaker, 78, of Corsica, peacefully passed away at home on October 20, 2016.

She was born Nancy Elizabeth Clark on June 27, 1938 in Day City, Clarion Township, to Francis and Christine Beveridge Clark. She graduated from Clarion-Limestone High School in 1956. She then graduated from Clarion State Teacher’s College with her degree in General Science Education in 1960. She was a science teacher, worked at Owens-Illinois, and the cafeteria at Clarion-Limestone.

On August 25, 1959, she married James S. Eaker of New Bethlehem.

Nancy was a homemaker, an artist, and a writer. She was a great cook and made the best apple pie. She loved day lilies and was a member of the Clarion Master Gardeners. She and her family lived and traveled in England, Germany, Texas, South Carolina, and Florida; finally returning to Pennsylvania. She enjoyed reading and loved her family, but most of all she loved God and served Him faithfully throughout her life.

Nancy is survived by her husband, James; her son, Michael Eaker and wife Kathryn, and children Carl and Genevieve, of Carlisle, her daughter, Kathryn Hildebrand and husband Bryan, and children Sheryl, Michael and Rachel, of Corsica; her daughter, Christine Haines and husband Robert, and children Emma, Rebecca, and Benjamin, of Dormont; and daughter Amanda Eaker, of Iksan, South Korea.

Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Gary Clark and wife Billie; sister-in-law, Ethel Clark; and brother-in-law Darl Eaker and wife Sandra; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James E. Clark.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where the family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday.

An additional visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday with Robert Flippo and Steve Marshall presiding.

Interment will be in the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
