PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – NASCAR and Punxsy Phil fans have a chance to own a very unique piece of memorabilia.
An authentic Inner Circle top-hat signed by two NASCAR icons – Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson – is up for bid at groundhog.org.
The winning bidder will also receive four Inner Circle Section Passes for Groundhog Day 2018.
Ricky Durst Sr., the Director Marketing & Ticketing of Pocono International Speedway said “While we do not have a certificate of authenticity, rest assured, this authentic top-hat came to Pocono Raceway directly from the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club.”
“Once in our possession, it traveled with us to Charlotte, N.C. There, it was directly passed from our hands to the hands of Dale and Jimmie respectively, and it was signed on our request in front of our eyes.”
“After returning from Charlotte, we gave the hat back to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. To our knowledge, there are only two in existence. One was given to one of our fans, and this is the other.”
The auction ends at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
