National Forest Snowmobile Trails Open For Riders

snowmobiles-535686_1280WARREN, Pa. (EYT) — The recent snow and cold temperatures have made snowmobile trail conditions good again on the Allegheny National Forest.

According to the latest report, at 0:00 a.m., on Friday, all of the nearly three dozen trails are rated as good or fair. More than half are groomed.

The latest update said that the trails will pack easily with use, but are not yet frozen and will deteriorate rapidly from good to fair with extensive use.

Parking areas plowed for snowmobile trailer use include:

– Longhouse Trailhead at State Route 321 (McKean County)

  • Rocky Gap Trailhead/Ramp at State Route 3005 (Warren County)
  • Kinzua Point Information Center at State Route 59 (Warren County)
  • Kane Trailhead at U.S. Route 6 (McKean County)

The report reflects snow and trail conditions at the time of the report. Trail conditions may vary throughout the ANF and are subject to change without notice.

Timber and OGM operations may also affect trail quality on roads.
