National Weather Service Warns of Potentially Hazardous Weather Conditions

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Special Weather Statement warning the public of potentially hazardous weather conditions affecting clarion County and surrounding areas.

The following Special Weather Statement was issued at 12:13 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014:

GARRETT-FOREST-CLARION-JEFFERSON PA-ARMSTRONG-INDIANA-WESTMORELAND-WESTMORELAND RIDGES-FAYETTE-FAYETTE RIDGES-PRESTON-
TUCKER-INCLUDING THE CITIES OF…OAKLAND MD…TIONESTA…CLARION…BROOKVILLE…KITTANNING…INDIANA…GREENSBURG…LATROBE…
LIGONIER…DONEGAL…UNIONTOWN…CHAMPION…OHIOPYLE…KINGWOOD…PARSONS

ROADS MAY QUICKLY BECOME SNOW-COVERED AND VISIBILITIES MAY BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN A HALF A MILE AT TIMES DURING PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY
SNOWFALL TODAY.

AFTER 400 PM THE RISK OF MORE INTENSE SNOWFALL WILL BE OVER AND SNOW IN GENERAL WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF. USE EXTRA CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING TODAY AND ALLOW FOR EXTRA TIME.
