Ned E. Drake

Ned E. Drake, 69, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, October 21, 2021, at his home.

He was born October 1, 1952, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Martha J. (Haffner) and Walter Drake.

On December 19, 1975, he married Margaret E. “Peggy” (McDonough) Drake, who survives.

Ned was a graduate of the Seneca Valley High School. He then earned his associate degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Beaver County.

He served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975 as a MP.

Ned worked for the Pennsylvania State Police as a liquor enforcement officer.

He enjoyed golfing and playing games on the computer. He was a former coach and umpire for Little League Baseball.

Ned was a member of the Eagles, V.F.W. of Glen Campbell and the F.O.P. in Reynoldsville.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two sons, Bryan Drake and wife Vicki of Easton, PA, and Mark Drake and wife Carla Kessinger-Drake of Charleston, South Carolina; and a granddaughter Emily Drake.

There will be no services held at this time for Mr. Drake. Services are under the direction of the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mr. Drake, to the charity of the donors’ choice.
