New Bethlehem Man Escapes Fire Through Window

PORTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police in Clarion are investigating a fire that took place early Thursday morning in the New Bethlehem area.

Police say the fire broke out around 4:00 a.m. at a garage along St. Charles Road.

The 20’x30′ wooden structure was destroyed in the fire.

The owner of the property, Charles Andrews, of New Bethlehem, was inside the garage sleeping when the fire began to spread, blocking both of the front doors and a rear exit door.

Police say Andrews escaped through a window without injury.

The structure was a total loss.

The State Police Fire Marshal was called to assist in the investigation.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
