Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed the following charges against 45-year-old William Marvin Koppenhaver, of Penfield, on October 7:

- Stalking – Repeatedly Commit Acts To Cause Fear, Misdemeanor 1
- Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
- Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
- Harassment – Follow In Public Place, Summary
- Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary
According to a criminal complaint, around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, following repeated calls and text-messages to his estranged wife, and after being told to stop, Marvin Koppenhaver followed her and a known man to the Beechwood Golf Course on Airport Road, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.
According to the complaint, Koppenhaver then confronted the known man near the eighth hole of the golf course, drew a knife, and threatened to “slit his throat.”
According to police, Koppenhaver is suspected of utilizing a tracking device on his estranged wife’s truck, as a witness observed him underneath the vehicle.
Koppenhaver was arraigned at 3:27 p.m. on Monday, October 8, in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office.
His bail was set at $20,000.00 monetary bail and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail. He was released on Tuesday, October 9, on a surety posted by a professional bondsman.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on Monday, October 22, with Judge Inzana presiding.
