Nick R. Monoskey


Nick R. Monoskey, 69, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, August 12, 2021, at his home.

He was born June 15, 1952, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Betty (Miller) and Nick Monoskey.

On April 30, 1977, he married Diann L. (Dynako) Monoskey, who survives.

Nick was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic of Punxsutawney.

He graduated from Punxsutawney High School with the Class of 1970 and graduated from Triangle Tech with a degree in HVAC.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Military Policeman.

Nick worked in underground mining for Greenwich Collieries till they closed. That is when he earned his degree from Triangle Tech and started his own company, Total Quality Air, which he ran for around twenty years.

He enjoyed bowling, fine woodworking and cabinetry making, traveling to go skiing and to the beach with his family and volunteering at the church.

He was a member of Romzha, a fraternal organization within the church and the Rossiter American Legion.

He was also proud of his HVAC work during the renovations of the ninety-five-year-old Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church.

In addition to his wife Diann, he is survived by two daughters, Hilary Monoskey of Punxsutawney and Katelyn Monoskey of Pittsburgh; a brothers-in-law John Mennetti of Rossiter and David Dynako and wife Terry of Harrisburg; a sister-in-law Elaine Dynako of Philadelphia; four nephews, Sam Dynako, Dr. Joseph Dynako and wife Casey, John Mennetti and Jeff Mennetti; and a niece Janet Engelholm.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Mennetti.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2021, at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Father Vasyl Kadar officiating.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Punxsutawney.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mr. Monoskey, to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, 2700 Horizon Drive, Suite 120, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
