Nine Local Girls to Compete for Miss Teen, Miss Junior Teen ALF

CLARION, Pa. – Watch the talented teens of Clarion County compete for the titles of Miss Junior Teen and Miss Teen of Autumn Leaf Festival.

This year’s program will be held on Saturday, September 24th , at the Clarion Area High School Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:00 pm with the program beginning at 6:30 pm.

Miss Junior Teen Contestants

Summer Bish
Age: 13
School: Redbank Valley Junior/Senior High School
Talent: Dance
Activities: Summer is in the eighth grade at Redbank Valley High School where she is a member of the Bible Club. She participated in the Redbank Valley High School Talent Show, where she was rewarded first place. Summer also received the Achievement of Academic Excellence Award. She has been dancing at Dancer’s Studio since the age of 3. She is also a member of the Teen Competition Team and a Company dancer for Dancer’s studio. Summer has attended several regional dance competitions and recently attended Dance Master’s of America National Dance Competition in Nashville where she performed several group dances and a solo, for which she received the Personality Plus Award.
Interest: Summer’s hobbies and interest include drawing, visiting new and interesting places, and riding roller coasters. She also enjoys listening to music, dancing, and learning new acrobatic moves.

Gabrielle DiDolce
Age: 13
School: North Clarion Junior/Senior High School
Talent: Dance
Activities: Gabrielle is in eighth grade and is a member of student council and drama club at North Clarion High School. This will be her forth year as a dancer with Clarion Center for the Arts. She takes ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro, cecchetti, and theatre. Gabrielle is also part of CCA dance ensemble and competes at Dance Masters of Pennsylvania at Seven Springs. She just became part of the Oil Region Ballet Company as an apprentice. For the last two summers, Gabrielle has performed with Clarion University Summer Theatre in “The Wedding Singer” and “Godspell.”
Interest: In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys hiking in Cook Forest, swimming, and her new found passion for downhill skiing.

Eliana Fox
Age: 12
School: Clarion Area Junior/Senior High School
Talent: Dance
Activities: Eliana does junior high band and choir. In band she plays the alto saxophone. Eliana is a Clarion Center for the Arts dancer. She does ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, and cecchetti. For the third time, Eliana will go to Dance Masters of Pennsylvania at the Seven Springs Resort. Eliana loves walking her dogs. She loves to ride her ATVs with her sister and family. She is an exceptional cook and loves to make concoctions with her sister. Eliana loves to draw and color, especially horses.
Interest: Eliana enjoys sewing, writing short stories, knitting, crocheting, biking, hanging out with friends, and dancing.

Abbey Barron
Age: 12
School: North Clarion Junior/ Senior High School
Talent: Dance
Activities: Abbey is a seventh grade student at North Clarion High School. She is involved with the Reading Competition team. She has been a dancer at Dancer’s Studio in Clarion since she was three. Abbey dances in all genres: tap, ballet, jazz, musical theatre, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, acrobatics, lyrical, and pointe. She is a member of the Senior Competition Team. As a team member, she has traveled to numerous regional and national competitions, winning top awards, scholarships, and recognitions, including Petite Miss Dance of Pennsylvania. Abbey is also a Company member at the studio, traveling to New Orleans, Orlando, and Nashville to compete in the Dance Master of America competitions. This summer in Nashville, her solo placed seventh overall in her age group. Abbey is also a teacher’s assistant at the studio. She assists in tap, acrobatics, hip hop, and ballet. She also enjoys volunteering for church activities.
Interest: Abbey’s main interest is dance; therefore, in her spare time she enjoys taking advantage of opportunities to help her become a better dancer. She traveled to New York City and appeared on NBC’s Today Show, helping to set the Guinness Book of World Records for Largest Street Dance. Abbey was a headline group dancer at the Sabika Jewelry National Conference in Pittsburgh. She has also traveled to take classes from master choreographers across the United States. Her love of dancing has led her to many of her other interests: traveling, meeting new people, and learning new things. Abbey also enjoys drawing, acting, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Jaclyn Frye
Age: 13
School: Keystone Junior/Senior High School
Activities: Jaclyn is in the eighth grade at Keystone Junior/Senior High School.She is enrolled at Clarion Center for the Arts where she takes theater and voice lessons. She has participated in the Young Americans program and the “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” musical at Keystone. Jaclyn participated in her school talent show where she performed “Lost Boy” by Ruth B acapella.
Interest: Jaclyn’s interests include a range of things from outdoor activities to spending time with her family. She enjoys playing softball, going swimming, and going fishing. She also enjoys riding her four-wheeler. In her free time at home, Jaclyn likes to sing and play piano.

Angela Olson
Age: 15
School: Clarion-Limestone High School
Talent: Dance
Activities: Angela attends Clarion-Limestone High School as a ninth grader. She has earned the President’s Award for Educational Excellence for Outstanding Academic Excellence and High Honors for maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Due to her outstanding academic performance in seventh and eighth grade, she has received the “Top five Academic Award.” She was honored to have been recognized by her math teacher for having the the top PSSA math score in seventh grade. She participates in Student Council and Bible Club. She is part of the Clarion-Limestone Dance Team that assists with the choreographing of dance routines.
Interest: She has been a member of Dancer’s Studio Company and Senior Competition team for three years. She was the recipient of the “Positive Attitude” and Perfect Attendance dance awards in 2014. Angela enjoys being a mentor to the younger dance students as she has volunteered as a teacher’s assistant for two years. She enjoys entertaining the community at nursing homes, local festivals, and parades.

She assists every summer as a group leader at her church’s Vacation Bible School. She has been asked to participate as the co-leader in the opening ceremony skit by the youth leader for several years. She has a true passion for community volunteer service. She has completed over 1,500 hours of volunteer work in which her efforts were recognized by her earning the President’s Volunteer Service Award. She is the co-chair person of the fundraising efforts of a global project, “Uniforms for The Community Project: Ethiopia.” She has volunteered her time raise funds for 1,000 school uniforms for children living in a habitat in Humanity Village.

Angela loves to compete in pageants for the wonderful experience of meeting friends and showing her sparking personality on stage and during the interview. She has received local, state, and national titles in 2011 through 2014. She was honored to have won first Runner-Up and Talent Award at Miss Erie’s Outstanding Teen. She enjoys camping and swimming with her friends and family in the summer.

Dorothy Kalinowski
Age: 15
School: Clarion Area High School
Talent: Vocal
Activities: Dorothy Kalinowski is 15 years old and is the daughter of Stephanie and Michael Kalinowski, of Clarion. Dorothy is a sophomore at Clarion Area High School. At Clarion Area, she has been in choir since seventh grade and recently was chosen to participate with the Clarion Singers. Her other activities in school include student council, the art program and, as a freshman, she lettered on both district champion Bobcat volleyball team and track and field.
Interest: Dorothy loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys the outdoors and camping. She likes to bake and joins her mom and many aunts and cousins to make hand pinched pierogies each year before Christmas. She is an active member of the Polish Falcons of America, and has participated in numerous nation sporting events as a member of this group.
Dorothy is adept at drawing, painting, and string art, but her favorite activity is singing. She has participated in several talent shows highlighting her vocal talent and love of music. Dorothy also serves her community as a volunteer at the Golden Living Center in Clarion where she assists in activities for the residents.

Chloe Bowser
Age: 18
School: Keystone Junior/Senior High School
Talent: Vocal
Activities: Chloe is a member of the Clarion County Youth Council. She is also a member of Keystone’s concert choir and band.
Interest: Chloe enjoys singing and playing her guitar and clarinet. She also enjoys writing music and poetry along with novels that have yet to be published. Chloe spends time knitting, crocheting, and beading. She is always excited for a good DIY. She loves trying new things and hopes to soon pick up the cello. She finds the most joy being on stage and partaking in theater.

Larissa Lauer
Age: 17
School: Clarion Area High School
Talent: Dance
Activities: Larissa participated in student council for four years, was the junior class treasurer, a member of youth council, and has been in Clarion Singers for two years. She was also recently inducted into the National Honor Society. Larissa has been a member of the band and choir for the past six years, playing the saxophone in the marching band, jazz band, and pep band, and being nominated as the Senior High choir president. She participated in the Math 24 competition for five years, and was a champion three times as well a finalist. She enjoys dancing, singing, and acting. Larissa also enjoys travelling with her family, shopping and fashion, and seeking adventures with her friends.
Interest: Larissa has been dancing for the past 14 years at the Dancer’s Studio in Clarion in all genres including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, acrobatics, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, modern, and musical theatre. She has successfully completed Levels I-V of the Professional Cecchetti Council of America ballet method. Larissa has participated as a company and competition team dancer, competing in several regional competitions and receiving countless awards and recognitions. She has also traveled to the Dance Masters of America National Conventions in Orlando, Fla., New Orleans, La., and traveled to Nashville this past summer where she placed 16th in her age category in the competition among over 100 other dancers across the nation. Larissa was selected as a member of the American Tap Company. She has been an assistant teacher at the studio for two years and is now a teacher for tap classes. She has been cast in local musicals such as “Fiddler On the Roof” and “Tumbleweeds” and has also been part of the school musical productions of “Anything Goes” and “West Side Story.” Larissa is a member of the Immaculate Conception church where she volunteers as an altar server and greeter within the church and will be confirmed this upcoming fall. She also enjoys volunteering at St. Joseph’s summer Bible school, the Junior Olympics, delivering care packages to shut-ins, working the Clarion County Air Show, and helping at Red Cross Blood Drives.
