Tractor-Trailer Strikes Guard Rail in Bell Township

State PoliceBELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police report a tractor-trailer with an over-sized load struck a guard rail in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

Police report the 7:55 a.m. August 21 crash occurred when a 2015 Peterbilt tractor-trailer operated by Thomas L. Warren, 55, of Sherwood, Alabama, was traveling north along State route 119 near McCracken Road.

Police say Warren under-compensated for a right curve and struck the guard rail along the east side of the roadway with the right rear of the vehicle, causing about 30 feet of damage.

Due to the size and weight of the vehicle, Warren didn’t realize he had impacted the guard rail and continued traveling.

The vehicle sustained minor damage to its right rear portion and Warren was uninjured.
