Punxsy Woman, Dogs Escape Unharmed After Car ‘Totally Engulfed’ by Flames

fire_truck-e1348179123281PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney police report a vehicle fire occurred in Punxsutawney Borough.

Police say the September 21 vehicle fire occurred when a vehicle operated by Debbie J. Coleman of Punxsutawney was traveling east along Pine Street and she noticed smoke coming from the hood of her vehicle.

Thinking it was simply from low coolant, she traveled further along the road looking for a convenient place to stop to see what was causing the smoke, police say.

Prior to the vehicle stopping the engine became engulfed in flames.

Coleman and her passenger, Ronald Coleman of Punxsutawney and two dogs exited the vehicle before anyone was seriously hurt, according to police.

The vehicle became totally engulfed in flames and Punxsutawney Central Fire Department assisted at the scene, putting out the flames.
