Nora J. (Benyon) Corbin

Nora Jean (Benyon) Corbin, 85, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in The Gardens at Palmyra.

She was born Thursday, January 14, 1932 in Falls Creek, PA to the late Robert Love and Helen Bridget (McTigue) Benyon. 

She is survived by her loving husband Stanley R. Corbin to whom she was married for 67 years.

Nora was a loving homemaker, enjoying cooking and the time she was able to spend with her family.  She enjoyed keeping her mind active doing crossword puzzles and reading.  Nora helped during elections by polling in Palmyra.  She and her husband were avid travelers, taking road trips to 48 states. 

Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by 4 children, John R. Corbin, James A. Corbin, N. Eileen Drust and husband Eugene, and M. Kathy Snavely and husband Irvin; 6 grandchildren, Elizabeth Khrenovsky and husband Douglas, Jennifer Douglas and husband Mark, Matthew Corbin and wife Natasha, Stephanie Corbin and husband Kevin Eckerd, Karen Swetland and husband Shane, and Allison Snavely; 7 great-grandchildren, Audrey and Dylan Corbin, Luke and Peter Swetland, Julia and Kaitlyn Khrenovsky, and John Douglas; and a brother, Robert Benyon and wife Brenda.  She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Patricia Shema and Mary Betts. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The Church of The Holy Spirit, 245 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. 

Burial will follow mass in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.  Family and friends are invited for viewing on Sunday, July 9th from 4-6 PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 and on Monday, July 10th from 10 AM until time of the service at the church. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Heart Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693 or to Hospice of Central PA Butterfly Team, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg 17110.
