Norma Strouse

Norma Jean Strouse, 76, Reynoldsville, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home.

Born September 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Edna (Moore) Mowrey.

On September 10, 1960, she married Willis J. Strouse in Allens Mills. He survives.

Norma is a graduate of the DuBois Area High School. She was formerly employed by Brockway Glass, Holiday Inn, and Hoss’s restaurant. She was a member of Soldier Community Methodist Church, Hormtown Women’s Club, Reynoldsville Grange 1825, Red Hat Association, Senior Citizens of Brookville, and the Past and Present Machinery Association. She loved crocheting, socializing, canning, square dancing, traveling, and sewing.

She is survived by her husband, Willis J.; five children, Steven (Danielle) Strouse, Reynoldsville, Daniel (Alysia) Strouse, DuBois, Stacey Mitchell, Brockway, Marcie Delp, Brockway, and Melinda (Matthew) McKay, Brockway; 5 grandchildren, Cheyenne Mitchell, Keirstan and Britney Delp, Haylee McKay, and Brynlee Strouse; five siblings, Edward (Tillie) Mowrey, DuBois, Walter (Shelby) Mowrey, Reynoldsville, Carol (John) Reed, Sykesville, Allen (Linda) Mowrey, Reynoldsville, and Glenda (William) Thompson, Reynoldsville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James R. Mowrey, a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Mowrey, and a son-in-law, Cheyney Mitchell.

Memorial contributions may be made to Penn Highlands Hospice, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801, Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801, or to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

Friends and family will be received Monday, May 9th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 10th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. in DuBois. A funeral service will follow Tuesday’s visitation at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
