UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An Ohio man was arrested on theft of services charges following an incident that occurred on June 7, along Interstate 80, in Union Township, Clearfield County.
According to police, the incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. on June 7, along Interstate 80 at the 103.1-mile marker.
Forty-two-year-old Jason C. Skinner, of Columbus, Ohio, was parked along Interstate 80 when Dubois-based State Police stopped to make sure no assistance was needed.
Skinner allegedly told State Police he ran out of gas, and they notified a tow service to assist him. Upon arrival of Zimmerman Towing, of Falls Creek Borough, Skinner was provided with gasoline and gave the towing service a credit card for payment.
Police say when the tow service went back to their vehicle, Skinner then fled the area, and the credit card was declined.
Skinner was intercepted by Clearfield State Police and placed in the Clearfield County Jail on theft of services charges.
A preliminary arraignment will be held for Skinner at a later date.
