Oil City Man Allegedly Shoots, Kills Wife

police_line_11OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Oil City Police say an Oil City man is accused of killing his wife from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Around 11:16 p.m. on February 7, Oil City Police were dispatched to 142 Charlton Street, Oil City, via 911 emergency dispatch for reports of a shooting at the described address.

Upon police arrival, 49-year-old Jeffrey A. Goodman, Sr., who also lives at this address, was taken into custody by police.

Police say Goodman’s wife, Cathy, was found inside the residence dead from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Goodman was transported to Oil City Police Department where he was interviewed, processed, and arraigned before Judge Michael Snyder.

He was lodged in the Venango County Jail after failing to post $500,000.00 bail.

Oil City Police were assisted at the scene by PA State Police, Sugarcreek Police, and Oil City Fire Department.
