One Charged after Pulling Fire Alarm in Punxsutawney

state_policePUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney Borough Police responded to a false fire alarm in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County.

On August 6, 2015, the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department responded to 200 Prushnok Drive in Punxsutawney Borough with the Punxsutawney Fire Department for an activated fire alarm at the building.

No emergency was discovered to be present upon arrival of first responders.

Through police investigation and video surveillance it was determined that Harry Smith, of Reynoldsvile, Pa., allegedly purposefully pulled the alarm triggering the false emergency.

As a result of the incident police filed a criminal complaint against Smith charging him with Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct.
