One Driver Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 119

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225HENDERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 119, at its intersection with Kramer Road, in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 78-year-old Donald L. Woods, of DuBois, and 64-year-old Gregory W. Peace, of Stump Creek, were involved in the collision.

According to police, this two-vehicle crash occurred as a 2008 Hyundai Azera, driven by Woods, was traveling south on SR 119, and a 2012 Honda CR-V, driven by Peace, was attempting to complete a right hand turn onto Kramer Road.

The Hyundai was approaching from the rear and was unable to slow down enough to allow the Honda to complete the turn. It hit the Honda, causing the Honda to spin 180 degrees clockwise and landing on the driver’s side and coming to a final rest 54 feet after impact, police say.

The Hyundai came to a final rest immediately after impact, according to police.

Woods was not injured; he was using a seat belt.

Peace suffered minor injuries; he was also using a seat belt.

He was treated at the scene.

Woods was charged with a traffic violation.

The Hyundai was towed from the scene by Mottman’s Towing.

The Honda was towed from the scene by South Side Towing.

Jefferson County EMS assisted at the scene.
