One Man Injured in Washington Township Crash

WASHINGTON TWP. Jefferson Co., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say one man was transported by ambulance following a two-vehicle crash in Washington Township late Monday morning.

According to police, around 11:14 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 78-year-old Robert H. Zercher, of DuBois, was operating a 2015 Nissan NV200, traveling north on State Route 219 near the intersection with Harveys Run Road in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Police say Zercher lost control of his vehicle on the slippery roadway, and it traveled across the double yellow lines and struck a 2014 Ford F-150 XLT operated by 31-year-old Steven A. Warren, of Mt. Jewett, Pa.

Zercher’s vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway and came to a final rest on the shoulder. Warren’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and also came to rest on the shoulder.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Zercher suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by Brockway Area Ambulance Service.

Warren was not injured.
