One Person Injured in Tractor-Trailer vs. Pickup Collision on Route 119

NORTH MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) – One person was injured in a tractor-trailer versus pickup collision on Route 119 in North Mahoning Township on Monday morning.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, this crash occurred around 3:25 a.m. on Monday, January 23, on State Route 119, in North Mahoning Township, Indiana County.

Police say 36-year-old Dennis D. Brooks, of Punxsutawney, was negotiating a righthand turn in the roadway in a 2022 Kenworth Northwest when it began to slide on the snow-covered road.

The vehicle traveled across the double yellow line into the northbound lane where it struck a 2017 Ford F350 pickup operated by 52-year-old David L. Swartz, of Rochester Mills, that was traveling north.

Jefferson County EMS transported Swartz to Punxsutawney Hospital for injuries of unknown severity. He was using a seat belt.

Brooks was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Marion Center Volunteer Fire Department, Smith Towing & Repair, and McMullen Performance Towing also assisted on the scene.

According to police, Brooks was charged with a traffic violation.
