One-Vehicle Collision in Brookville, Driver Escapes Injury

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 2:45 a.m. on August 20, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, on the North Fork Bridge, in Brookville Borough, Jefferson County.

According to police, 27-year-old Georgian C. Epure, of Chicago, Illinois, was traveling east on I-80 and the right front tire of his 206 Volvo 670 commercial vehicle impacted with the bridge abutment, which caused Epure to lose control of the vehicle.

After impact, the truck continued to travel for approximately 380 feet due east, while remaining in contact with the bridge abutment. Unit 1 came to a final rest in the middle of the roadway, facing due east, and still in contact with the bridge abutment.

Epure was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Bricen Towing.
