Opal Lorraine Ent

Opal Lorraine Ent, 84, of Brookville, died Friday, March 6, 2015, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.

Born March 1, 1931, in Pansy, Opal was a daughter of the late George and Orpha Hetrick Edwards. She married Ramsey J. Ent on Jan. 22, 1949. He preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2011.

Opal was a homemaker, loving wife, caring mother and a strong pillar of inspiration to her family. She loved reading books, discussing history and world events and visiting with family and friends. Opal was a devout Christian who openly shared her faith, values and genuine kindness. She was a strong advocate for the rights of unborn children as well as a strong supporter to many other Christian ministries. Opal also worked for a period of time as a care provider at a local nursing home and served as a volunteer librarian assistant.

Surviving are her daughter, Julie Rogers (Bill) of Knox; two sons, Steven Ent (Carol) of Brookville and John Ent (Kimberly) of Loudoun County, Va.; two sisters, Mary Fitzsimmons of Brookville and Louise Sushereba of North Carolina; and five grandchildren.

Opal was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde “Sonny” Edwards.

Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Main Street, Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Guy Felmlee of Center Hill Community Church, Knoxdale, officiating. Burial will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
