Over 700 Grams of Meth Found During Traffic Stop in Jefferson County

BELL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An area man is facing felony drug charges after over 700 grams of methamphetamine was found in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Bell Township.

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

The charges stem from a traffic stop on State Route 119, in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:24 p.m. on September 17, Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Drug Law Enforcement Division initiated a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Silverado along State Route 119 near its intersection with School Road in Bell Township for following too closely.

The troopers then made contact with the driver, identified as Brent Patrick Coder, and a known female passenger.

A search of the vehicle located approximately 725 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a THC vape pen, the complaint states.

A field test of the suspected methamphetamine showed a positive result for the presence of methamphetamine, according to the complaint.

Coder was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock at 7:20 p.m. on September 17.

Unable to post $20,000.00, he remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
