Overdose Investigation Leads to Arrest of Woman for Stealing Liquor from Bar, Giving it to Minors

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say an investigation into an overdose led to the discovery that a local woman stole liquor from a bar and gave it to two minors.

Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 35-year-old Tasha Nichole Price, of Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to a criminal complaint, on August 4, 2019, Trooper Marshall-Hoare, of the DuBois-based State Police, was assigned to investigate an overdoes that occurred at a location on Route 219 in Washington Township, and subsequently discovered an incident of burglary and corruption of minors.

According to the complaint, it was found that on August 3, 2019, Tasha Nichole Price picked up two minor children and transported them back to her apartment along Route 219 in Washington Township.

Once they were at the apartment, Price allegedly said “this is supposed to be a fun night, let’s go down and get alcohol,” and told the children they had to wear masks if they were going to steal alcohol form the closed bar below her apartment.

According to the complaint, Price handed two bottles of liquor to each of the children to carry up to the apartment, and she carried a bottle and a case of Sprite. Once they returned to the apartment, Price allegedly poured the children drinks from the stolen liquor and encouraged them to drink it.

Price then took the children to another residence on Reed Street in Brockway, where she allegedly gave one of them marijuana to smoke. She then brought them back to her apartment in the early morning hours of August 4 to sleep.

The complaint notes that Price left the children there in the morning and when she returned to the apartment another known male arrived to purchase drugs and then overdosed in the bathroom of the apartment with the minor children present.

The following charges were filed against Price through Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on September 26:

– Burglary – Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
– Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
– Endangering Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Felony 3

A preliminary hearing on the case has not yet been scheduled.

According to court documents, Price is currently lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.
