Overnight Fire Guts Jefferson County Residence

CORSICA, Pa. (EYT) – A two-story residence was destroyed in an early Wednesday morning fire in Corsica.

According to a representative of Corsica Volunteer Fire Company, the call came in around 1:15 a.m. for a residential structure fire at 670 Main Street in Corsica.

Corsica Volunteer Fire Company, Summerville Volunteer Fire Department, Sigel Volunteer Fire Department, Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Brookville Fire Company, Warsaw Township Volunteer Fire Company, Limestone Township Volunteer Fire Company, and Hawthorn Area Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the scene while Strattanville Volunteer Fire Company remained on stand-by.

Sources say everyone inside the residence escaped safely, but the structure was a complete loss.

Damages are estimated at around $140,000.00.

Two adults and four dogs were displaced as a result of the fire.

The blaze remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit.
