PA Great Outdoors: Jeff Tech Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Reynoldsville Mural

Reynoldsville will have the chance to admire a new mural slated to be placed on the hardware store’s brick wall this year. Over 100 students from Jeff Tech, under the direction of artist Deb Bunnell from Hollidaysburg, are working to develop the mural.

Students researched the history of Reynoldsville to decide key important historical items to include in the design. Artist Deb Bunnell compiled all their rough sketches and tallied the items the students felt should be included in the mural. The goal was “to encourage collaboration with Jeff Tech and the community through the creation of mural to represent Reynoldsville, exploring the history that has shaped the town of Reynoldsville through the form of arts advocacy,” stated Angela Dragich Art/Math Instructor at Jeff Tech. The mural will be done in panels.

The panels of the mural will be installed once the building is prepped with primer. After installation is complete, a dedication will be planned to commemorate the mural. The project is expected to be completed later this spring or early summer.

Funding for this project was made possible by Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Lively Arts/ArtsPath program with Indiana University of Pennsylvania through Jeff Tech of Reynoldsville.
