Passenger Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Winslow Township

WINSLOW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a two-vehicle accident occurred in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 78-year-old John L. Jerry, of DuBois, and 33-year-old Michael C. Eliason, of Reynoldville, were involved in the collision.

According to police, around 10:50 a.m. on August 11, a 2012 Subaru Outback, driven by Jerry, was traveling west on Wayne Road, and a 1999 Ford Ranger, driven by Eliason, was traveling east on Wayne Road.

Police say Jerry failed to yield the right of way to Eliason before attempting to make a left turn onto Sunset Drive. Eliason swerved his Ford to the left lane to avoid striking the Subaru, and the Subaru swerved back into the right lane before striking the Ford.

The Subaru came to a final rest on the roadway facing west, and the Ford came to a final rest north of the roadway facing south.

Neither driver was injured.

A passenger in Jerry’s vehicle – 68-year-old Barbara O. Jerry, of DuBois – had minor chest pains. Reynoldsville EMS transported her to DuBois Regional Medical Center.

All occupants were using seat belts.

Jerry was charged with a traffic violation.
