Patricia Elaine Houk

Patricia Elaine Houk, 84, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, December 13, 2021, while under hospice care in her daughter’s home in the Poconos region surrounded by family.

Born on January 15, 1937 in Miami, FL, she was the daughter of the late John Patrick and Bernice Mae (Ewart) Pettay.

For twenty years she was an Air Force spouse having raised her family in Riverside, CA, Zweibruecken, Germany, Honolulu, HI, San Antonio, TX, Canton, OH, Ft. Meade, MD. After service life she lived in Jefferson County from 1972 and finally lived in Allentown with her daughter after 2014. She was raised in Massillon, Ohio.

Patricia was a Baptist by faith and an avid bowler in her younger years. She belonged to the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles organizations.

Surviving are three children, Kenneth Houk of Fort Worth, TX, Ronald Houk (Donna) of DeLancey, and Lori Houk-Hineline (Brian) of East Stroudsburg; six grandchildren, Kayla Krukova, Erica Boyles, Casey Farcus, Carey Young, Curtis Houk and Samantha Houk; six great grandchildren; two brothers, John Pettay and wife Dorothy of Grayson, GA and Timothy Pettay and wife Lavonne of Port Orchard, WA; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her death are husband William T. Houk, and daughter in law Patti Curtis-Houk.

The family will hold a private memorial gathering on December 21 in Brookville, PA. Internment will take place in the family plot in Massillon, Ohio.
